Course description
In this course you will get an insight into the needs and best practices how to set up and run the Monitoring and the Log functionality of the Avaloq Banking System (ABS).
 
After a reactivation of the purpose and possibilities of the ABS Monitoring and Logging, the available monitor checks will be discussed. The course shows how to parameterise existing monitor checks as well as how to create additional checks by using Avaloq Script. Participants will see the background of the Avaloq Application Monitor in the database and how to interface external monitoring solutions. In addition the course focuses on root cause analysis using the Avaloq Log as well as available tracing features of the ABS. The course is based on tools, functions and APIs which are included in the ABS.
In addition to the theoretical background, we will walk through some use cases and do exercises.

  • How to override the default checks and create new ones
  • How to use the Avaloq Log for root cause analysis
  • How to interface external Monitoring Solutions
  • How to use tracing & profiling

Members of IT Operations organisations at customers or partners side. Also application manager and application operation manager.
Prerequisites
Before attending this course, participants must have knowledge in the following areas:
  • Toad or SQL Developer
  • Understanding of simple PL/SQL statements
  • Attended the course "Fundamentals of Avaloq Application Operations" (OAO)
 
Basic knowledge of Avaloq code tables and Avaloq script is beneficial
