Course description
Report Writer is an important technology for data extraction, presentation and manipulation of the Avaloq Core Platform. It is used in almost any customisation area and has a big impact on user experience.
 
Using the knowledge acquired in the “Best Practices for Report Writer” course, this course takes a technical view to understand exactly how the different parts of the Report Writer Engine work together to create a report. Customisation professionals learn how the Report Writer Engine works and how and where they can take advantage of it and extend its functionalities.
 
Equipped with this knowledge, course participants will be able to conceive solutions for their clients well beyond basic reports. A fine-grained understanding of the engine and its application will allow them to develop high-performing and scalable solutions from parallelised reports to reports using different tasks, advanced aggregations and customised user interaction capabilities.
 
At the end of the course, the customisation professionals will have a deep understanding of the Report Writer Engine, its central parts and how everything fits together. The customisation professionals will be able to produce very flexible solutions and high-performance reports and customisation of the Avaloq Banking Suite .
 
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • thoroughly comprehend the technology behind the Report Writer Engine
  • take advantage of the functionality offered by the task framework
  • understand the process of parallelising, sorting and grouping data
  • extend aggregation functions of a report datamart
  • create very complex but performing reports
  • extend the interactive functionalities of screen reports

Avaloq customisation specialists who implement complicated reports or have to address technical aspects of Report Writer performance issues.
 
Prerequisites
Customisation specialists interested in the customisation of interfaces, who previous have participated in the Best Practices for Report Writer (BRW) course.
